We invite all members to attend this year’s General Membership Meeting on Monday, November 9th in our Community Room. Doors will open at 5:00 pm for socializing and a dinner prepared by Café 67! The meeting will start promptly at 6:00 pm. Your Board of Stewards looks forward to seeing you there!

This year, you will have the opportunity to:

• Vote on recommended revisions to our governing Bylaws that address voting for Stewards to the Board of Stewards.

• Enjoy a delicious buffet meal prepared by our Staff at Café 67 and get together with fellow Co-op members.

• Be entered for a chance to win one of the gift baskets filled with exciting Co-op products.

• Take part in voting for new board members to represent you. There are presently three positions to be filled on our nine-person board.

Stewards whose terms will be ending this year are Jeff Headley, Scotty Hartman, and Toby Hagerott. Toby was appointed to the Board per the Bylaws to fill the remainder of the term Rachel Brewer who resigned.

If you have wondered what it's like to govern a cooperative grocery organization, we can tell you it is interesting, challenging, and a lot of fun. Please consider joining us! To qualify for the Board of Stewards, you need to be a member at Newark Natural Foods Co-op and notify us that you would like to serve on the board by submitting a letter of intent on or before Tuesday, October 20th. As a reminder to staff members, you are also more than welcome to vie for a board seat at the November election. To show your interest in becoming a Steward, please email us at bos@newark.coop.
