Cafe 67 remains open for Take Out. Check our pre-made dinners and chef case selection.
Going forward, we will be slightly adjusting our hours in order to better serve both you and our staff.
Monday through Saturday - 8 AM to 8 PM
*Please note that on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 8 AM to 11 AM will be reserved for shoppers who are at a higher risk of severe illness including older adults and those who have compromised immune systems.
Sunday will remain the same - 9 AM - 7 PM
The cleaning and disinfection of the store will be complete tonight and we will be open tomorrow, March 20 at 9 am. Due to the interruptions of the last two days, we may be missing some items that we have thus far been able to keep in stock. We ask for your patience as we recover logistically from this short interruption.
We are committed to doing everything we can to protect the health and safety of our employees and community. Going forward we will be instituting the following changes:
• There will be a limit on the amount of shoppers allowed in the store at one time. As a result, you may experience a waiting period before entering the store. The number of people allowed in the store may change at our discretion to adjust for safety and operational efficiency and to ensure our ability to practice social distancing.
• On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the first two hours (9 to 11 am) will be reserved for shoppers who are at a higher risk of severe illness including older adults and those who have compromised immune systems.
• For now, the store hours will remain the same, but we may need to adjust hours in the near future.
• Special ordering will be suspended. We are unable to guarantee any special orders placed will be fulfilled due to our distributors limiting the size of our orders. Please let us know if you have questions about the availability of specific products in our inventory.
• Effective immediately, we are suspending the use of customers personal shopping bags. It is our desire to help our cashiers on the front line and our customers to be as safe as possible.
• We are still working on a solution for curb-side pick-up. Please give us a little more time to work out the logistics for this.
• Our hand-washing station will remain outside the front door. We will continue to have disinfectant wipes available at the front of the store for as long we are able to get them.
Thanks again to everyone for your understanding and cooperation.
Thank you to our Co-op community for your outpouring of support in our decisions. As you can imagine, these are not easy decisions to make and we appreciate your kindness and dedication.
The question that we have seen the most from you is a request for the times that the individual was in the store. On Monday, 3/9 they were in the store from approximately 10am-4pm and on Thursday, 3/12 from 12pm-2pm. Again, the capacity of the individual's visit makes it unlikely that they were in close contact as defined by the CDC with any of our customers.
Other questions have included topics around limiting the number of customers in the store at one time, special hours for our senior community, and possible curb-side pick-up. We take these requests seriously and are working on plans to accommodate what we can.
We will continue to post here and Facebook. Thank you again for your support.
Late in the evening on Tuesday, March 17, we learned that an individual who was in our store on Monday March 9th and Thursday March 12th, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Upon learning of the result, we have moved quickly to implement our response plan and are temporarily closing the store in order to procure the services of a commercial cleaning company to deep clean and disinfect the entire store. We are following all recommended guidelines from public health authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as well as city, county and state public health departments.
While this individual is not a member of our staff and is not likely to have had “close contact” with any of our customers, out of an abundance of caution, NNF will be closed for 2 days. We plan to reopen on Friday March 20, 2020. As the situation evolves, we will continue to inform our community of any changes to our schedule through our social media, website, and eNews.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
In response to the constantly changing COVID-19 situation in Delaware, we have taken the following precautionary measures:
All testers and samples have been removed from the sales floor
Self service options in our cafe have been suspended including hot bar and salad bar
Coffee is still available for purchase, however, it will be served by staff from behind the counter
Cleaning and Sanitation efforts are continuing
All store and committee meetings for March have been cancelled
The Governor has mandated closing restaurants for dine in but take out is allowed, so Café 67 will remain open in a limited capacity. Beginning Tuesday, March 17th, we will no longer allow seating in the Café.
The NNF Board of Stewards has canceled in-person meetings for March but will conduct business through conference calls and continue to post the meeting minutes on the Board Blog.
The health and safety of our customers and staff will always be a top priority for us at Newark Natural Foods and we will continue to keep you informed of our efforts.

So far, we have been able to satisfy demand and keep most products in stock. However, in order to best support community health, please know that there may be a purchase limits on certain items.
We will continue to revamp and reinforce our protocols and procedures as needed to ensure the Co-op is a safe and healthy place for all. Some of the steps taken include:
The Co-op is making regular sweeps throughout the store to sanitize surfaces like door handles, cart handles, checkstands, PIN pads, and other high touch areas
Regularly switching out utensils for the hot bar, salad bar, and coffee station
We have suspended self-serve sampling. Please ask if you would like to sample a product
Bulk container lids and scoops are cleaned regularly
Sanitizing stations are placed all around the store for customers to conveniently use.
The use of refillable mugs has been temporarily suspended at our coffee bar.
At this time, the classes scheduled in our Community Rooms are cancelled
